Some names sound lavishly when it comes to the pure Romanian industry – Dacia is certainly among them.
The Dacia Renault plants are a great achievement of the Romanian industry, which is 50 years old this year, said President Klaus Iohannis on a working visit to Arges County on Thursday.
„I am impressed, I was visiting two years ago and I can tell you that the progress is visible, clear and impressive, but I am delighted to mention that Dacia plants produce 3% of Romania’s GDP. it is a great factory with a great Romanian tradition and today I visited the engine unit and the assembly unit. (…) It is a great achievement, which just happens to be 50 years old this year. Dacia is now Dacia Renault, it is part of the Romanian auto industry with foreign investments, but also with many companies with local capital, „the head of state said after visiting the Dacia Automobile Plant.
He also said that he had met with the people working at the Dacia plants. „We have found that people are proud to work here, which confirms the special quality of this plant,” Iohannis said.
The head of state believes that the automotive industry is a very important pillar of the Romanian industry.
But industry needs to be supported, adapted and populated with trained employees to keep up with Industry 4.0 requirements. New automation systems, specific equipment, and strategies that put the efficiency and defects in the forefront require the industry to be as thorough and up to date as possible.
The Industrial Academy – the pioneering program in terms of full product lifecycle training, helps production companies with specialized training and interactive courses for their employees. Thus, we can carry on the tradition of the Romanian industry for many years to come.
